Smile Moving to Kentucky

My family and I plan on moving to Kentucky within the next month. I have a possible job offer at Owensboro Health Systems. Could anyone help with the best place to live in or near Owensboro.

Welcome!
I recently did a search on Owensboro for the same reason- we have several places on our list and I was curious about the area. Lived here forever - and really never realized how wonderful that region of the state is!

My search took me first to mapquest - just so I could get a feel of the land - how close things are (Henderson is in that area, too), and how far we would be driving to come home to Bullitt County.

Then, I pulled up realty sites and checked from that arena. I was able to get a very good feel for the areas by the houses, descriptions, etc. - but I always come back to the Chamber of Commerce. They are a WEALTH of information - and are always happy to help you.

http://www.owensboro.com/ - this is there link - I think it will get you started. You can tell them what you are looking for and not only will they provide you with stats, but more than likely you will encounter people who live in those neighborhoods as well.

Good Luck- and I am so happy your 'southern heart' is heading this way!!

thank you kimmieyky
See people like you are why we want to move to Kentucky. I found that jobs are more easy to come by in Owensboro. That is why we planned on there. I want to finish my nursing degree, so being close to a hospital is a big deal for me. I hope to be working at Owensboro Medical Health System.

Once again thank you very much! I am very excited about the move. I will be there job or no job.

God love you. That is very sweet of you to say. I can tell you that Owensboro Med. Ctr. has a HUGE amount of job listings right now. As a matter of gact - you can check with Monster and other national employment sites and check the jobs out now. The availibility of careers in that area was the reason for my research there to begin with. Unfortunately, I was never able to finish nursing school - so what I would make there is comparable to here (central KY), so for now we will stay, unless dh finds something somewhere else.

I believe, from what I can tell- you will have a wonderful experience around Owensboro. I have always heard nothing but good things about that area - and while it is 'country' there is much to do - thick with history - as is most of Kentucky.

I am so glad you guys chose 'us'. You will be welcomed with open arms!!
Happy Moving!
