I agree with InLondon regarding Clarksville.

In fairness, Oldham Co and NE Louisville residents have opposed any widening to I-71 or KY 22. The state was ready to 6 lane I-71 in JeffCo, but resident opposition stopped it

Once again, you are in the right church wrong pew. The 6 lane overhaul of I-264 (Watterson from Shelbyville Rd) & I-71 to OC line was stopped/slowed by Prospect, not by Oldham. This opposition was due to the need for the improvements to handle the new east end Ohio River bridge.
There has been no effort by anyone in OC to stop the improvements to I-71.

Didn't the state want to 4 lane KY 22 from Crestwood to I-265 and OC residents stopped that project? I know JeffCo has been the problem getting the Old Henry Road extension done

In ten years or less, I-24 will be running through a major portion of Clarksville. What road is used by more people commuting from Hopkinsville to C'ville? Now tell me they don't need AT LEAST 3 lanes on each side. I have been through there on a Sunday and it's been backed-up.

So that;s where all the growth in Clarksville at! I drove all the way through it on the old roads and didn't see any new construction. Their downtown was ALMOST as impressive as Russellville KY
Montgomery Co has a large land area, so it's growth is really exagerated when comparing to Lou and Lex. MontCo has the same population density as Oldham Co

No, you are confused. This is known as the Old Henry Road Extension. It was originally intended to go from I-265 at Old Henry RD Exit and across the Waldeck Mansion property and butt into the KY Hwy 329 Bypass which connects KY 22 to I-71 at exit 14.
Waldeck successfully appealed that their property was historic and caused the KYDOT to redesign the extension to tie into KY 22 about one mile east of the Waldeck Mansion.

You really think their growth is exaggerated???
1990- Clarksville 75,494
1990- Montgomery County 100,498
2000- Clarksville 103,455
2000- Montgomery County 134,768
2007- Clarksville 119,284
2007- Mongomery County 154,460
2010 (Proj)- Clarksville 137,900
2010 (Proj)- Montgomery County 163,927
2020 (Proj)- Clarksville 179,220
2020 (Proj)- Montgomery County 202,680
I forget what year exactly they take over Chattanooga for the 4th largest city. Not bad for a town that had 60,000 people in 1980. Now unless you are blind or living in denial, there has clearly been new construction going on in Clarksville/Montgomery County. As you can see, their county growth has grown as well, so they are not annexing in area's unlike some cities I know.
One more funny tidbit:
2000-2007 Jefferson County +15,660 residents
2000-2007 Montgomery County +19,692 residents
Even funnier:
Since 1990 Jefferson County +44,327
Since 1990 Montgomery County +53,962
I guess they've been exaggerating for YEARS now. I found all the info from the U.S. Census website. It's close, but Montgomery County has gained more residents in the same time period than Fayette County as well.

The growth in Clarksville is not exaggerated at all. The growth of Fort Campbell, proximity to booming Nashville, and Tennessee's very tax-friendly climate have catapulted Clarksville from a town the size of Owensboro to a city larger than Evansville in only 30 years. Not bad at all!
Now, if only Kentucky could only get its act together and watch Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and even London/Corbin boom like that. Probably will never happen, though.
By the way, I've traveled through the 8-lane portion of I-75 through London, KY. It hardly DESERVES to be six lanes! Seriously, hardly ever any traffic on it, day or night, whenever I come through there. Southeastern Ky. gets a ***load of pork projects like that, plus the Cumberland Gap Tunnel, KY 30 from London to E. Bernstadt, US 119 in Pike County, and the proposed US 460 tunnel near Elkhorn City, just to name a few. Where's western and central Ky. in proportion to their populations?
By the way, in my home county, Anderson, there has been one project delayed for ten years. That is the addition of a center lane on US 62 from the bypass to the golf course. It will probably never happen.

It seems as if surrounding states have left KY in the dust. No offense to the folks in West Virginia, but I feel like that is where our state is heading. When you have a city like Clarksville, beating out KY's largest cities in growth, that is a MAJOR issue.
