VA clinic in Mayfield
Just read in the Paducah Sun they are going to build a VA clinic in Mayfield, to open in February. Sounds good for that area.

Have you heard anything about the old General Tire buildings? My parents (still in Mayfield) said they thought there was something in the Messenger about a warehouse company looking at it.

What is the projected date this clinic to open? Is there a large Veteran Population in this area? Where is the closest VA Hospital? I work for VA & would consider relocating if there are openings in the VA Health Care System in Kentucky. I currently work for VA here in San Diego, but I'm looking to possibly transfer to a VA out that way.

There is a VA in Lexington, and I think one in Morehead. I go to the one in Lexington, think it is good and haven't heard anything bad about it.

There's a Veteran's Home in Hanson, just outside Madisonville. I'll see if I can find out something about the Mayfield office and post it on here.

I am not understanding why Mayfield gets a VA Clinic, when there is a HUGE need for one in Murray. Now they will have two offices in adjacent counties. This makes no sense to me, but seeing as I work for the government, nothing they do ever makes much sense.

Mayfield is smack dab in the middle of the JP, that's why. Several various regional offices are located here for that very reason, geography.

A company call KenTex (I think) bought it and there going to scrap it out from what I understand.
