I don't live in Bardstown but live rather closeby. I've been there probably 15-20 times. It wouldn't surprise me if Brenda88's story is true, I'll put it that way.

To the OP, can't you choose a better place than Bardstown? Seriously. Something less snooty and just as picturesque. Elizabethtown is a comfortable small city of 25,000 and Kentucky's newest MSA; Springfield is a tiny town of 2,500 in Washington County, or Lebanon (pop. 5,500) in Marion Co. Both are some of Kentucky's nicest small towns.

I would agree with Lebanon. A very picturesque little town that I always enjoy visiting.

My husband and I are looking for a small, safe town in Kentucky. We're going to be relocating from Michigan. We live in a large city here, with lots of crime. We thought Corbin would be nice, but I'm getting feedback that it has a lot of drug activity and crime in that area.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cat

You can try Maysville (East of Cinnci) or Brandenburg (SW of Louisville). There are 120 counties and many more 'small, safe towns' in Kentucky. You may want to be more specific on your criteria.

Corbin has crime??? Uhh, that is not something I would be concerned about. I have lived in the area all my life. As far as drugs, I guess it's about the same as everywhere else. There's a lot of nice neighborhoods in Corbin and the Corbin City Schools are very good. I'm not sure where you're getting your "feedback" but somebody doesn't know what they're talking about. London is 12 miles north of Corbin and has been seeing more growth than Corbin for several years now. Have you considered London?
