Boone, and Conway...
Hi, again, folks. I thank-you, for being so kind about answering my posts about Kentucky.
There are some towns outside of Richmond and Berea called Boone and Conway.
Are these nice towns?
How are the folks?

Okay - the above sites are all I could find. Apparently, 'Boone' is Boone county - I knew there was a Boone county, but had not heard of a city by that name. And, the only thing I can find about conway is that it is located in Rockcastle county.
Good luck with you rsearch. Hopefully the sites above wil help.

Boone and Conway
Good morning Catlily71~! I can give you a little info on Conway. It really isn't a "town", more like a community. If you take highway 25 towards Mt. Vernon, you will drive right thru it, running right along beside I 75 on the right, and the railroad tracks on the left. This is some very flat land, with several houses on each side of the highway. There's a few flea markets, and a couple of schools (Roundstone Ele.), a volunteer fire dept. (Brindle Ridge) and some churches and such. It really is a pretty area, especially close to the Mt. Vernon (Rockcastle County) line. We go thru this area when we go to our cabin on Lake Cumberland. The good thing is Conway is VERY convenient to Berea, so you get the shopping, arts, crafts, historic area, etc. without living in the "thick" of it all.
I really know nothing about Boone County, but when I did a search for this area it listed a Boone. which was Boonesborough! Did you mean that area? If so, my hubby's family is all OVER that area, and I can tell quite a bit, especially where the good boat ramps are, the best places to bank fish, and where to avoid. ~joanna~

Amen, sister! I made 3 stops in town yesterday and talked to 10 people in depth.
This sounds silly I know - but do you guys have a funeral home in town? The question in L.J. is always "whose at the funeral home? " We mean it sincerely, but it's so funny we always ask!!
Kimmiey = small town = pride....but give me warm weather PLEASE!!!!!!!
(it was 11 degrees this morning!)

Funeral Homes
G' Mornin' Kimmiey! We have a few funeral homes around, mostly in Richmond. There is Combs, Parsons and Collins (on Main Street), Oldham, Roberts & Powell (Barnes Mill Rd.) and Turpin on N. 2nd St. In Berea there is Davis 7 Powell, Lakes, and Reppert. For some reason, in this area, families tend to all use the same funeral home. For instance, in my family, we've had like 7 people pass, and all went to the same funeral home (Combs). Is that the way most people do it, or is that a small-town thing? Just interesting, even if it is kinda morbid!
Hope everyone is nice and warm this a.m. Goodness knows it's cold enough. I was kinda upset that there was school today. We got about 1" of fresh snow last night and this morning. The roads were completely covered, and yet they had school in Madison County! Plus, my kids' bus doesn't have any heat! My youngest called me from school to say they saw 2 wrecks, and one car out of the road before they could get to school. Kinda ridiculous considering we are about 4 miles from her school. Anyone else get cancelled or get the snow? ~joanna~

Cold
G' Morning Joe!
Well, we've gone from Winter right into Spring! Right now it is POURING rain, and already 46! We're supposed to be up in the 60's by this weekend, so it's FISHING TIME!!! Yeah, I get excited about fishing. We are hoping to go swimming in a couple weeks, too. If it will stay at least 60 for two weeks, I'll be in water somewhere. Unless the weather is off, we have usually been swimming at least once by March. I know, we're kinda crazy!
Hopefully you and Donna will be coming up when the weather is pretty. I noticed yesterday that my Buttercups and Gladioli are up. That's a good sign of a weather change.
I noticed on mcbrhomes.com that there are a bunch of new listings, which is not unusual for this time of year. Did you all buy the Richmond house, or are you still searching? It's definitely a buyer's market right now.
Talk to ya soon! ~joanna~
