My son goes there. They were told to go home. He said there were shots at PFT and armed people on South Campus. That was the first report.

Thye haven't found a gun or a gunman, but evidently a fight did happen at PFT. They evacuated it and did not fidn anyone hurt.

CNN and the Nashville TV station we're watching said there hasn't been any confirmation on shots fired but they said nobody was injured.

My son said a girl he knew was near PFT and heard shots, but no one will confirm it to police now I guess. It is scary to me. A fight broke out at south campus which is a bout a mile from main campus and then they brought it back to PFT on main campus. They have taken someone into custody. I hope that ends it. I worried all through jr. high and high school about school shootings and now I have to worry through college. My son had just gone to a class when they all started getting the text messages and his teacher was about to lock down the room he was in. He said he slipped out the back door as soon as he got the text and went to his car and drove back to his apartment. He said he learned from Va. Tech and all of the other school shootings that the farther away you can get the better. I guess that was pretty smart.

They don't sound like they are out of the woods yet, but so far so good.
I guess this was one story the Ledger HAD to print. The county usually covers up news to make it more "attractive" to outsiders. |

Glad there weren't any shots fired at Western. I checked the university's home page and they had a statement that was updated as the day went on. Sorry to hear about the shooting outside Murray. Read about it on channel 6's page. Everybody here around Cadiz are still shocked about the triple murders here!
