Considering Relocating to Glasgow area
My wife is considering taking a promotion and re-locating to the Glasgow, KY area. We currently live in Ohio. We have two small children ages 8 & 4 and want to know the best place to live considering schools, community, etc. We have heard that Bowling Green makes the most sense. Can anyone help us make the right decision? Also we will be visiting the area soon for a couple of days and want to make the most of our trip. Looking for advice related to what to see, where to consider living, etc.
Thanks.

Bowling Green will be a 30 minute drive to Glasgow daily, but not a bad drive. Do you want to live in a bigger city or a small town? If a small town, you might like Glasgow. The two school systems there are Barren County and Glasgow schools. In Bowling Green, there are two school systems, Bowling Green City and Warren County Public. The best city elementary schools IMO are Potter Grey and McNeil. The best county elementary are Briarwood, Natcher, and Richpond. If you can give me more info in the type of house, size and price you would like I will be glad to send you some listings to look at. Send me a pm if you want with any questions.

We definitely like the Bowling Green area better than Glasgow. Now we're trying to figure out the school districts (i.e. What elementary schools feed into what middle schools, what middle schools feed into what high schools).

If you live in the city district, all elementary schools feed into the Bowling Green Jr. High School and then into Bowling Green High School. The best elementary schools IMO are Potter Gray and McNeil. If you live in the county Natcher, Briarwood, Cumberland Trace, Rich Pond, Plano and Alvaton feed into Greenwood High school. However, a new high school is being built at Rich Pond along with a middle school and some of those schools feeding into Greenwood will then feed into Richpond. Call the Warren County school board before you buy to be sure what the redistricting will be because I do not know right now. The other elementary schools feed into Warren Central High school and Warren East High school. Here are websites for both districts:
Bowling Green Independent Schools
Warren County PUBLIC SCHOOLS 303 Lovers Lane Bowling Green, KY 42103 270-781-5150
