WKU or NKU
I like warmer weather to cold. My major is Accounting. Bigger the campus the better. I know WKU had the fight the other day but im looking past that. I'm leaning to WKU, but I want to know what you guys think......

I am an alumni of WKU and my son goes there now. I think you would like it. Even though there are about 18,000 students, it still has the feel of a smaller college sort of. The class sizes are not huge like the bigger univiersities. There are always a lot of activities going on also. People are very friendly. I love WKU. I went back to get my master's degree in my thirties and I even loved it then.

I live in Northern Kentucky (about 30 miles from NKU), but I'm a WKU grad. NKU is a decent school from an academic standpoint, but it is more of a commuter college than WKU, with fewer dorms and much less campus life. Also, the WKU campus is much more attractive--NKU's architecture draws heavily from the bunker/bomb-shelter design school with its boxy concrete structures. On the other hand, if nightlife and things to do outside of school are important, your options will be much more restricted in Bowling Green than in the Northern KY/Cincinnati area.

I'm a WKU grad and my son is attending WKU now. We visited LOTS of schools, public and private, prior to his decision to attend WKU. I can say, hands down, that you won't find a public university in Kentucky that has a more beautiful and well-maintained campus. He made the final decision. He chose WKU because the campus & student body was not too big and not too small. He factored in class size and campus amenities and WKU won out. NKU wasn't even in the running. We drove through campus on a trip to Cinncinati during his junior year and he didn't even want to schedule a visit there.

I think you will get a better college experience if you go to WKU. NKU is very much a commuter school M-F. WKU they go home on weekends but stuff goes on M-F. Thursday night parties rule!

Good review!
I have a daughter at NKU and know kids at both schools. WKU will provide warmer weather than NKU too since that's important to you. If you have trouble focusing however or turning down the party invites, that will be more of a challenge for you at WKU. Because it's larger and more on campus, there's definitely more nightlife/partying there.
Academically, IMO Northern is the winner. Athletics go to WKU - NKU doesn't have football which is a big campus event for most schools. NKU is DII and WKU is DI. Location (other than weather) is pretty much a tie IMO. Both are fairly easy to get to. Campus beauty - Western hands down.

For that reason alone I would be tempted to move closer to Northern KY. Lexington is just depressing. Then, I'd be a stones throw from Cincinnati. Is nightlife pretty good in Cincy? Isn't their gay club called The Dock? I think I went there twice as a late teen.
