Hi! Nice to have you coming to the Bluegrass!

I have to be honest - knowing it is a 'suburb' of Covington, Cinncinnatti area - I would say you will get the bigger town effects - but I know for a fact (as I have friends moving from Michigan to my area) you will not find racism on the level that you do in Detroit. From what has been described to me from the Michigan prospective - towns in KY are a cake-walk compared to what you find where you are. I am absolutely amazed at some of their stories.

I am not saying it does not exist - but absoutely not on the scale as you would find in a larger town like Detroit.

I know that area of Kentucky is diverse ethnically and culturally speaking, there is much to do - and you do not have to travel far to find everything you may be looking for.

My aunt just moved from Erlanger KY to the Louisville area - Erlanger is probably about 45 minutes or so from Ludlow area, and she would definetly complain if it were a bad area. She would travel (when she could drive - just a year or so ago) into Cinncinnatti area, Covington, etc. - and if it was safe for an 80 year old Lady - you should do just fine.

You will learn what areas to stay out of and which ones are open and welcoming - but as I said - your experience here will be beautiful compared to where I know you are coming from.

I wish you all the best. And have a great trip!
