Husband relocated considering moving to Northern KY
We just recently got the news that my husband has been relocated and will be reporting to an office in Hamilton, OH. We currently live in Northeast KY and our son is a junior in high school and daughter is a sophomore at the University of KY. Many factors, including scholarship money, taxes, etc., have been swaying our decision to stay in KY. I am not familiar with Northern KY but in reading some of the other posts am getting an idea of what is available. We need to be close enough that my husband's drive to work is under 45 minutes, better yet closer to 30-35 minutes. We are looking for a home in the price range of $200,000-$250,000 if possible, no older than 10 years old, and would like a neighborhood with a median age of around 35-45 years old that have older children in high school or college that we would have things in common with. We enjoy being close to the advantages of the bigger city but like living in a more suburban area where these amenities are just a short drive away.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Moving your family is stressful enough let alone worrying that you will choose a good neighborhood to live in with highly rated schools.

Northern Kentucky
You may want to consider the western portion of Boone County such as Hebron, Burlington and Florence.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a place in NKY where you'll have less than a 45 min. commute to Hamilton, especially if it's a 9-5 job that will have your husband on the roads during rush hour. Living near I-275 in Boone county (Hebron, Peterburg, etc.) might be the best option. You could take I-275 through Indiana and eastward to Hamilton. Still a pretty good haul, but I think the traffic is much lighter than driving up I-75.

My husband's main office is out of Hebron, and I hear from him it's a pretty nice place. He says it is an all 'new area', strip malls, businesses, etc., with new housing to boot. I am not sure about the schools, but check out Hebron Schools - Hebron Kentucky School Ratings - Public and Private . Good luck to you! KimmieyKy

Thanks for the suggestion. This is the first week my husband has worked in the area and he told me just one accident can really back things up during rush hour. I have been looking in the Hebron area on the internet and think that may be our best option to jump on 275 like you suggested. He is going to try to drive it next week to see how long it takes him.

I have been researching the various neighborhoods and Hebron was one that was listed as a fast growing new area. I am anxious to have my husband actually drive it to his office and see how much of a commute it would be because that area definitely has caught my eye. Thanks!!
