Default THoughts on statewide races: McConnell/ Lunsford, Guthrie/ Boswell etc

McConnell is leading Lunsford in most polls by 7%

Guthrie / Boswell for the US House seat for Sub. Louisville, O'boro, Etown, etc is considered a toss up that leans Republican

Also... I looked up the woman in the anti Lunsford ad named Addia Wuchner of Boone County. It turns out she is a state representative for Northern KY and a U of L & Thomas Moore alum

Here is the ad:

That is not really a surprise. Fox has called Kentucky for McCain already but it seems too early.

Obama never had a chance here and he knew it, he never campaigned here at all, I think one stop in Louisville during the primary. I'm not a big Mitch fan, but I trust Lunsford even less and the Dems don't need a bulldozer majority.

Anyway if Obama wins the empty speeches are over and he's actually going to have to perform, I think he has no idea just how big those shoes are he's going to try and fill.

Good job Kentucky!

(Although, I'll frankly admit that Northup deserved to lose. She carries herself as rather elitist.)

Could not be more pleased with the way Kentucky voted, but I am disappointed with the final Presidential outcome. Kentucky never counts for much Nationally, but we did a wonderful job by keeping Mitch where he belongs - OUR voice in D.C. - and I am anxious to see where things go with the Senate and the House numbers adding up as they have.

Do you guys not think it's time to do away with the entire system (electoral college) and get back to popular vote? I know this time, nationally it would not have made a difference, but it would have made a differnece in the primarys. We could be in a totally different place right now if popular vote prevailed.
It just makes me ill to know a person can carry 5 or so states, forget the rest, and be elected into office. I think it's time for the system to CHANGE.

Just my two cents.
