Likely based on your description, you are looking at homes in the Nolin Lake area. I would put Cub Run, Bonnieville, and Munfordville as the points of a triangular area which you may be considering. I will reply based on that guesstimate. You will be moving to one of the most rural areas of central Kentucky. Your closest "trading post" will be one of the towns mentioned. This is where you'll find gas, bread, and other food staples. Your next level of shopping will come either from a limited Leitchfield area or Elizabethtown the latter of which will offer you automobiles, movie theaters, and regional shopping such as clothing. You will be about 1 hour from downtown Louisville where you will go for Broadway plays and sporting events such as NCAA and minor league baseball. You'll also be about 1/3 way between Louisville and Nashville Airports. Schools are not notable, but with good parental involvement should lead to any college of choice. Heck, I had school mates that were admitted to Harvard, Centre, and Suwannee. So, you'll be ok on the school front if you can add some extra dimension. Taxes will be about 75 cents per 100 of home market value. 6% sales taxes on most everything but food & drugs.
