Guess I'll avoid Somerset. I consider myself a decent man of worth, have standards, don't do drugs, shave & shower & clean up decent, responsible & Have some attributes that most women would like to find in a man.

Funny thing, Here in So Cal, we have some of those, but not at every turn of the corner. I guess match.com hasn't much of a market share in that region.
I wouldn't want to move to an area where my prospects of meeting a quality woman are nil. My reasons for wanting to move there are to continue my career in the VA healthcare system, be involved in local Veteran organizations, live in a less crowded suburban/semi-rural place that don't cost an arm & a leg. It makes one wonder What Kentucky Women seek in a man?

Kilted Son, It ain't so. I don't know where peepops hangs out at, but he needs to get out and about, unless this is just his type. You will find Kentucky women much the same as women all over the world, unless you p*** her off, then things might get a bit hairy.

I don't believe everything I read, but I did find similar threads here on CD describing some women that fit that description cause for concern, just seems coincidental. Where to meet & greet may be a bit of a challenge for me, 52 years YOUNG, but I'm fine with most company. My social strata tends to lean towards Veteran's organizations, but not a great place to meet the ladies. I do like going out dancing, singing Karaoke, (Yeah Real Men Sing & Dance!) fine dining, & teh finer things in lifeas well as simple things. At any rate, I'm in Louisville on 6/26 & am renting a car,making my way across to Mayfield, visit where my Father was born. I also have made some connections in Kentucky, I just want to come out there & have a great time & focus on worthwhile people,places,& possibly finding a home there. California seems less appealing to me, sort of like the wasteland for the rich & undeserving elitists. I'm not that. What baffles me is the paradox of why some women are attracted to men who treat them like
S**T, & they keep going back for more. Yes I think I will find the culture there refreshingly different,& nice, but I know the human condition remains the same.

if i were you i wouldnt listen to anyone about weather you can find a good woman here in ky or not bercause everyone knows each and every person is a different person and im sure the people the were downing ky woman are just talking from there own experiences but like i said everyone is different so that may be true for there crowd but not the one you would be looking into you know what i mean ??....im from ky and live in eastern ky lawrence co im 20 so all i know is there are plenty of girls my age that are real nice and would be a great catch( its just a matter of actually catching) but i know you said your older so ill say this i know quite a few that are older and are good well rounded woman around here and most have ben married so i dont think youll get away from that in this state because marriage is a thing everyone does so i say just keep looking and dont listen to all the neg. comments about you not going to find woman because there are plenty you just have to find where there hiding lol well good luck.....

Thank You, & while I hope to cover as musch ground while I am out there, of course there is no escaping the fact that I will most likely meet women closer to my age that have been married, I certianly expect that. It's pretty much that way anywhere.

I'm coming out to KY. because I can, I wan to to see the lay of the land, meet friendly folks, enjoy the breathtaking scenery, sample the Whiskey, & the cuisine, just visit there & enjoy a vacation to somewhre I've never been. I also want to visit the VA in Louisville, maybe see how the employment prospects are there. IF by happenstance if I meet a nice girl out that way, it makes the trip all that fun & worthwhile. Over time I've learned to keep my expectations in line with reality.

What matters the most to me in this stage of my life is finding
contentment wherevever I end up, because to me life is a continuous journey, & not a dress rehearsal. I really am looking forward coming to your great state.

Kilted son, Hope you have a nice visit and find some place you like. Just don't cop an attitude, tell us we have accents, or call us yankees and you'll be fine. We love our state and like to see other people who can accept us for who we are and can also enjoy our state. If you can get out this way, the Natural Bridge area is greening up and will be beautiful in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!
