My guess is twofold. First, they really are friendly down there. Second, they are really struggling with the water issue on Lake Cumberland. So they are very motivated to bring in new people.

It's absolutely beautiful in that area, but be prepared for a culture shock.

I was born and raised in somerset, Kentucky, also known as Lake cumberland. Some towns right there close is Burnside, where Burnside Island state park is. Some other towns around there is Nancy, Eubank, Science Hill, and Shopville. Hope I've helped you some. If this is the correct place, let me know what questions you need answered.
