Davart, my dad has a couple big limbs that is going to take a professional job to get down. He said he had heard some church groups were bringing in professional tree cutters to help out for next to nothing. I'll check later and see if he knows who to contact.

Smile moving back to KY

I grew up in KY. The Louisville area. I now live in Alaska and want to move back but not in a busy, heavy traffic and populated area. My wife and I are retired and love the outdoors. Fishing and hunting are our hobbies. Alaska is warring on us with the heavy snows ( 34 Ft. ), "tree huggers", run away government, high taxes, and a extreme high cost of living. Western KY. as I remember it, was a nice friendly area. I've read past threads but would like some updates advise. Thanks to all for any advise.

Yep, if fishing and hunting is your thing...Western Kentucky is the place for you. Lakes Barkley and Kentucky Lake is the best and hunting in the Land between the lakes is great also.

Southeastern Kentucky has some great hunting and fishing also. Lake Cumberland, Laurel River lake, wood creek lake and a few more smaller lakes nearby.
