Wooldridge monuments, Maplewood cem
In the pictures on here of Mayfield, it shows the Wooldridge monuments. They were damaged by the ice storm in Jan 2009. the city is working on fixing them, but it was pretty devestating. we have pic of the torn up monuments.

Darby, you live in Mayfield? My parents live there and had to come to stay with us during the ice storm. Contractors finally got all the limbs we stacked up on the side of the street picked up a couple weeks ago. We drove by and saw the Wooldridge Monuments, but didn't take any pics. The courthouse looked bad too, didn't it?

they are planning to tear down one side of the square. all of the buildings will go to make a cvs and i guess a huge parking lot. they tear down buildings here so fast, one day we will awake and it will be gone.

Yeah, I read about the CVS. Going to be weird driving in and not seeing everything on that side of the square. My mother worked at J. J. Newberry's where the furniture store was while she was in high school. She graduated from MHS in '40. But that is also the side that some of the buildings collapsed a while back so it might be good to go ahead and tear the rest down. Also odd driving down 7th Street and seeing a Walgreen's going up instead of the Church of Christ!
