Jody Richards (Democrat from Bowling Green), the longest serving House Speaker in KY history has been ousted and replaced by former attorney general Greg Stumbo.

Reportedly many House Democrats were not satisfied with the progress of the legislature now working with a democrat governor for the first time in 4 years.

The News and Tribune - Stumbo supporters rewarded with committee posts

Arghhhh, I never was crazy about Stumbo, after all he was the reason Ernie Fletcher didn't get re-elected as governor. Fletcher was the best governor we've had in years. I cannot believe the state elected Beshear as governor and now Stumbo has gotten what he wanted for sure.

I knew there was something I wanted to thank Stumbo for! As for the best governor joke there, from somebody who worked for the state under 7 governors (should be 6 but I added Beshear. Worked almost 2 months under his administration), thanks for the best laugh I've had in a while! I'm not saying he was the worst (Wilkinson holds that title) he's a LONG way from the best!

I'm glad I gave you a laugh. Keep laughing because Beshear's making unnecessary cuts in the states educational system. Which is ridiculous!

It's a sad irony that the Louisville area vote is what gave Fletcher the boot. He moved the arena project from a dream to a working reality, got money for too many U of L projects to mention, and got the Hurstbourne Parkway extension, Westport Road widening, and New Cut Road widening done with state only funding. There should be a statue of him at Waterfront Park.

I don't think Beshear's been a disaster, he's just an average governor who had no plan B for the budget when his plan A (casinos on every corner) failed miserably. I'm surprised he didn't change out state motto to "What happens here stays here"
