Default Chinese restaurants in Covington?

I'm staying in Covington for about three weeks and some of my colleagues only eat Chinese food (the hotter the better! They're from Sichuan originally.) Are there any good Chinese restaurants in the Covington area? I know that they'll want to eat there every night and as there will be between 5 and 7 of them some restaurant is about to make a large increase in their monthly revenue.

And for me who doesn't want to eat at the same place every night and have an opportunity to get away from them are there any restaurants I should try out? My tastes are pretty eclectic.

Szechuan Garden on Dixie Hwy. (US 25/42) in Park Hills is just a couple minutes outside of Covington. I haven't eaten there in years, but the food used to be pretty good. And they'll make it as hot as you like.

Other non-Chinese places I'd recommend that are all in or very near to Covington:
- Chez Nora at the north end of Main (the Main Strasse area)
- The Dee Felice Cafe (right across the street from Chez Nora)
- The Waterfront (a floating restaurant on the riverfront at Pete Rose Pier)
- Newport on the Levee. There are a variety of restaurants there (e.g., Italian, Turkish, Japanese). There's a list of them here--Venues At Newport on the Levee. There's also an official Hoffbrau House (a US branch of the Munich original) across the street
from the Levee.

For character (and good food), I also give high marks to the following:
- York St. Cafe at around York and 8th Streets in Newport
- Green Derby Cafe--best fish sandwich anywhere and only a block farther south on York
- Anchor Grill, the obligatory greasy spoon. Open 24 hours and awesome for breakfast. Don't forget to order the local favorite--Goetta. It's on Pike near the expressway in Covington.

Then you have downtown Cincinnati just across the river from Covington, and easily 200 more dining options.

Hope you have a nice stay.

I like the Red Light Cafe in downtown Covington. HUGE portions of American food, very good flavor, gritty old atmosphere, cheap prices, good service, funny name (it's sort of a red-light district). What more could one desire? Their breakfasts are huge.

I have eaten Chinese food in Covington, but none I could stand to recommend.

Thank you both very much! I've looked up the address of the Szehuan Garden and given it to my boss so I scored points there thanks to Rural Guy. And Goetta...sounds interesting. I'll make sure to try it out. I'm not a huge eater so perhaps the HUGE portion of food at the Red Light Cafe might have scared me off but it sounds like a fun place and I'm intrigued by the gritty old atmosphere and what that might entail.

Any great little shopping spots or antique shops in Covington? Theoretically I have the weekends off. Theoretically.
