I must say, it is too early to try and predict how much snow we get next week. Since when did they start predicting this stuff several days in advance?

That's further east from me. I'll stick with the National Weather Service (NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and see what they say when the day gets closer.

What kills me is , seems like it snows one or two inches and the whole city shuts down which is ridiculous . I mean I hail from missouri and that state never shuts down the librarys or the town centers because it snows and school is hardly ever closed due to snow . my goodness this city just does not seem equipped for heavy snow fall at all .

ice is totally different from snow though. There aren't any winter tires made that make traveling on ice safe. Plus there are still huge pockets of the city without power!

The updated forecast now says the storm will be a "coastal storm" that may only effect Eastern Kentucky.

Is Kentucky still reeling from that ice storm? I couldn't think of a worse time to get more snow-like weather than right after an ice storm.

Right now it is supposed to get up to 40 degrees tomorrow and 50 degrees Sunday - that should melt the worst of the ice off the trees and power lines. Hopefully there will be time to get everyone's power back on before the potential foot of snow.
