I am a Detroit transplant myself abcde-fam..... grew up in Waterford and Clarkston. Which part of town are you from? I reccomend the ashland area. as I have stated before the area around raceland and worthington reminds me more of Oakland County than anywhere else in the state. I love Boyd and Greenup county.

We're in Livonia/Westland. We like Ashland so far. My husband will be working out of the union there, but he will really work in a wide range of area. Lexington area was to far for us and I looked at Huntington W.V. area but liked Ashland alot. It's a big move but I'm excited and hopefully we can establish a good family life for our kids.

I live in Huntington, WV-- right across the bridge from Ashland, KY. I LOVE Ashland. Their artist district way surpasses ours and I often find myself over there. Great people, great shops and all around great place. I watched that report and it makes you sick when you are from the areas they are badmouthing... they have no idea what it is like where we are. Huntington itself has some "rough" areas, but trust me-- there are A LOT worse places out there to be.
