Default info. on Spencer County?

Hi, can anyone offer any input on Spencer County Towns? I have seen some nice homes online in Taylorsville & Elk Creek. What kind of area is it? What is there in the area? How are the Schools? Any info. would be helpful.

Thanks,
Deaneen

well, it is majority a rural area. Taylorsville is a nice small town with access to Louisville. Its not long before spencer becomes a major sprawlburb of Louisville though. Recent census data shows its the 18th fastest growing county in the nation, only trailing counties in FL and parts of the southwest. Still, its population is so small (about 20,000) that any siginificant growth is bound to show up as a huge percentage increase. I wouldnt expect major chain retailers out that way for another 20 years, even with its current growth.
