Default Did your parents or grandparents move up North for work - if so WHERE?

Most of my mom's sisters ended up moving to the Cincinnati suburb of Lockland so their husbands could find work at the factories in Evendale. My dad's family also lived in Lockland and also Norwood in Cincinnati.

If your family moved North then where to?

In the late 1950's a few of my dad's brothers and sisters moved to the Hamilton, OH area. At the time of their move they lived in Hazard, Ky. A couple of them have plans to move to Kentucky soon however. They are all now retired.

No, they didn't. The closest they came was moving from Meade County to Jefferson County. Some of my kin moved down South for different things (one was an engineer for NASA) but no one moved North.

I have family all over the country for one reason or another. I did have some family that ended up in Indianapolis. My aunt married a high school principal that was from there and so she of course moved. MY sister and her famly lived in Indiana and Ohio for a time, but they have lived all over the US and are now in Georgia. I am from a fairly military family so they get sent everywhere. I guess I had as many move further south as north though.

All of my dad's side that remain in greater Cincinnati now live in either Hamilton OH or Alexandria KY. I have one aunt who still lives way out in North College Hill, she is the only one remaining in Hamilton County

nokygirl is on a distinguished road
My grandparents and many of their brothers and sisters all moved to Northern Ky for occupational reasons. My grandparents lived in Newport, Ky for a few years before moving to Highland Heights, and eventually ended up in Alexandria for the remainder of their lives. My grandfather served in WWII, and my grandmother worked in a factory during that time. When the war was over, my grandfather began working at Ford and worked there until his retirement. They both remained in Northern Ky (as did their brothers and sisters who had also moved north) until their deaths.
