Default Gardening in Kentucky?

I am weighing my options for a relocation and, as a gardener, want to know if gardening is popular in Kentucky. I would like to start a garden and specialty nursery and am curious about the market/demand for plants. I wonder which areas in the state I should focus on. I hope to find an old farmhouse on acreage which needs repair, for not too much money (say less than $150k). I'd like to take a trip out there, but would love to hear from locals to get some ideas in advance. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Gardening is very popular in KY..mostly due to warm springs and summers. I think most of KY is in zone 6...so there are quite a few possibilities. Almost every county has a local farmers market on saturdays where you can find fresh tomatoes, squash, beans and so on. As far as areas of KY to relocate to, that's a tough one. Personally I have a little bias towards north central KY near the Louisville area. However, most of KY is very suitable for gardening except for the far eastern mountains.

Thanks a lot for the info. I do see that the Louisville area has quite a large population. Zone 6 suits me just fine. Maybe I'll check listings around that area and see what I can come up with. Thanks again!
