Well, lets see. Largemouth, smallmouth and "kentucky" (aka spotted bass) bass, white bass, hybrid stripers, stripers (aka rockfish), catfish (various species), bluegill, crappie (black and white), muskellunge, carp (of course) and gars. Probably a lot of others that I have failed to remember, but these I am sure of.

You can go to the public library or write to the Kentucky Department Of Fish and Wildlife and get books that has free information about what type of fish that are common in Kentucky. Happy fishing.

I'm pretty sure that the Striper we call a rockfish is a fresh water version of the stripers you catch in the ocean. If my old fishing memory is remotely correct, I believe the "land-locked" species came from Santee-Cooper lake in South Carolina. Lake Cumberland in Kentucky is famous for its striper fishing.

We catch rockfish, strippers below the Kentucky Dam, Barkley Dam, and the Smithland Dam. All three dams are less than 25 miles from Paducah, Ky. Barkley Dam is less that 5 miles from Kentucky Dam and the Smithland Dam is 13 miles from the two. Largest, of those I fish arround is 23 lbs. Limit out easy on 10-16 lb fish.
