Question Any Harlan Countians here?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to see if any of you all were from or still live in Harlan County? I am from Cumberland *obviously* but moved to Lexington a fews ago after my mother passed away. I have been back only a few times and that was really to visit my grandma and do a few other things. I certainly do miss it. The smell of it when its about to rain, I remember sitting on the porch with my mom and just rocking in a rocking chair and just having that breeze fall over me. Certainly not like that here in central Kentucky. I know one things for sure.. you can't ever go home again once you lose your parents, but you sure can remember it! Do any of you have any stories about home? I'd love to hear them. I am hoping to come home really soon to visit my grandma and go to the cemeteries to see my parents' graves and grandparents' as well! You all take care & I hope to hear back from some of my fellow Harlan Countians!

I've never lived in Harlan County but have traveled through every region of it and consider it one of my favorite places. It is where both my grandfathers are buried, and one grandmother was born on Clover Fork. For a few years my father drove there from Virginia to work in the mines. The people who live there are wonderful and the views southward from atop Black Mountain and northward from Pine Mountain and Stone Mountain are truly spectacular.
