Living in glasgow? Tell me what you like about glasgow?
Am seriously looking at a place to purchase in Glasgow. Was looking in Mayfield and Somerset, but could not find much. Have found a darling house in Glasgow, but don't know much about the town except that Diane Sawyer is from the area
Please tell me about it, what you like and don't, is Bowling Green the town you go to for big shopping????? I like that Glasgow is more cental in location to Louisville and Lexington, but want a small town feel.
Hope to hear some good comments!

Well, I doubt that Diane could tell you how to get to Glasgow. She's from Louisville. Glasgow is a nice place with most of the amenities a town of 10-25,000 would have. Very nice airport, good schools, convenient, and of course, a mega-Walmart. Can't be worth much without a mega-Walmart now can it. Bowling Green Mall/shopping is about 30-45 minutes, while Louisville is only an 75-90 minutes away for any kind of shopping. There are two nice sized lakes in the area, each with a Kentucky State Park. Counting Dale Hollow and Cumberland, there are plenty of venues for water recreation.

" I doubt Diane Sawyer could tell you how to get to Glasgow"
Her parents must have known how to get there , however.
In the detailed profile of Glasgow KY it states---" Birthplace of Dianne Sawyer (1945)

Glasgow is very nice, but small, which is what you said you wanted. Barren River State Park is right there and you will love that in the summer months. Property will be less expensive as long as it is not on or near the lake. Bowling Green is about 25 - 30 minutes away and has shopping restaurants and more healthcare and such. You would be about an hour from Louisiville. It really is a beautiful area.

Glasgow is a beautiful little town! It has good schools and while we'renot on a grand scale we do have alot of wonderful things to do for families! We're about 30 mins. from BG and of course Louisville and Nashville are right up the road (either way)!
