Exclamation MOVE~Russellville,Ky or Paris, Tn-- Found Two Great Houses, Each In Diff. State?

I have found two great houses to purchase. They are both around the same money, and have basically the same attributes. One is in Russellville, Kentucky and the other is in Paris, Tennessee.

I have not been to either place, but am purchasing the home anyway. Does anyone have any opinions on either or both places? It is for my Mom (77) and I (56)=I just retired early, and am wanting to move from the West Coast to the South.

Either location would be fine for us...I like the fact that I will be close to Nashville, and am wondering which town might be best??????

Any help is much appreciated

I'd suggest you check both areas out before making a purchase, or moving there, that is what most people on the forum would advise. What if you move to either place & find you don't like it, or your mother doesn't like it, what then? You can find out lots of information on the internet or from the chamber of commerce. I ordered vacation planner info & received lots of good reading material.
Maybe I shouldn't have stuck my nose where it might not belong by responding to your post, but like you, I thought maybe I'd have something to say that just might make a little difference. If not, just ignore my post

Those are very similar towns as far as size and demographics. Russellville seems more historic in some ways and I personally think it is a prettier little town. Paris is more artsy and is close to Nashville, but Russellville is just about as close and is only minutes from Bowling Green. Russellville might be more conservative, but I am only guessing on that. Russellville has some very old southern families and all that goes with that. I don't know if you know what I mean or not, but I hope so. Paris has the "World's Biggest Fish Fry"...Russellville has the tobacco festival. Russellville and neighboring Auburn have some really beautiful old antebellumm mansions that are bed and breakfasts now. Federal Grove serves dinner and maybe lunch now. Check that one out:
