Well, if you really wanna know...I love the skyline, I love how clean it is (even the downtown area), I love the country music feel the entire town has to it, I love Centennial Park, I love the ritzy feel of Cool Springs and Green Hills, I love the hospitable attitudes of the residents, I love the old plantation houses in certain areas, I love the airport, I love the Belle Meade Plantation, and I love it's ease of navigation as compared to other large cities I've been to.

Why the limited choices? I prefer Memphis but I'm closer to Memphis than Nashville, and I never lost anything in Cincy I needed back, not to mention it's 350 miles from here... not exactly nearby.

Because Nashville and Cincinnati are the only large cities within reasonable commuting from the Kentucky state line. Franklin is only 40 minutes from Downtown Nashville according to Google Maps and its only 30 minutes from Goodlettsville.

St Louis & Memphis are both 2.5 hours away from the KY line - is someone really going to do a 5 hour round trip for shopping, hospitals, or museums? Even Knoxville is 1 hour away and along a very rugged stretch of I-75.

Are you leaving out the Jackson Purchase? From Murray, we are as close to St. Louis as we are Louisville and less than 3 hours to Memphis. Those are OUR nearest large cities. And yes, sometimes we do go shopping in Nashville or Memphis. This question was very flawed to begin with.

Actually, many in the Paducah area do "day trips" to Nashville and St. Louis on a regular basis.

The JP is always left out you get east of the LBL and the JP is another state... which the way Frankfort is running things wouldn't be a bad idea.

Memphis has it's positives and it's negatives as does any town... however Memphis has got some great places to eat and shop. It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there, but that's just me.
