US Senate Primaries: who will you vote for?
It should be an interesting US Senate race for Kentucky in 2010. 77 year old incumbent Jim Bunning (R) of Covington is being challenged by two other Republicans, KY Secretary of State Trey Grayson of Covington and Bowling Green doctor Rand Paul.
On the Democrat's side the 2 front runners are former senate candidate and lut. gov Daniel Mongiardo of Hazard and State Attorney General Jack Conway of Louisville.
Who are you planning on voting for?

IMO, if Dr. Paul and Sec Grayson are in a three way with Sen Bunning, the incumbent will win the primary and lose the general against either Democrat. Either Dr. Paul or Sec. Grayson will win against the Democrat.

Its 4 votes for Grayson and NONE for Bunning so far. Do you all think that Grayson's primary run would be more successful against a sitting incumbent than Anne Northup's was against Fletcher?
Also... an interesting side note on the Dems side. Mongiardo is using his poker face so far by NOT revealing his fundraising. Conway raised over $1.3 million last quarter
Barefoot and Progressive: Jack Conway raises $1.325 million in 2nd quarter. Wow.

So you're hoping Paul drops out of the race sometime before May to give Grayson a better shot?

I just repped you! I'm not joking. Trey is a smart and one of the few genuinely honest politicians, knowledgeable about the law and has a genuinely great personality! Truly a great pick to represent Kentucky.
Bunning is an arrogant jerk. No...worse than that. He makes me embarrased to be a conservative Republican living in Northern KY.

Even if nothing changes, we at least won't have an arrogant, babbling prick in office who can't keep his foot out his mouth.

Either Conway or Greyson would be a great choice for Kentucky and a huge improvement over Bunning.

Yes, I am hoping that Dr. Paul would take a breather. While I might consider Dr. Paul as a top choice in a future race, right now Sec. Grayson is known statewide. Won in an otherwise Democratic state win against an incumbent governor (Richie Farmer is still Mr. Basketball in the mountains although he has grown into a very good Sec. of Agriculture).
I might like Dr. Paul's resume and personality equal to Sec. Grayson's, but what good is Dr. Paul's platform if he is not the top vote winner?
