Default Uh oh...The devil is coming out in Murray!!!

Keep it Local - Murray, KY

I am SO ready for this to pass. The Bible-thumpers are already out spreading their false garbage. Thank God for the 10,000 Murray State students that will help push this over the top. I can't believe in 2009 that this is still an issue. Hopefully Murray can join the 21st century.

Hey, that false garbage goes both ways. I went through all that bull in Union County a couple years ago and I'm having to listen to it all again here in Trigg. I don't drink. Never have, never will. But I have nothing against drinking if that's your thing.

You're right. The only problem is that every prediction that the pro-moist voters made in 2000 came true. We have 13 new restaurants that serve alcohol since 2000. 15 restaurants in Murray serve alcohol and every single one of them are packed almost daily. There have been numerous new jobs and alot of new tax revenue since the 2000 vote.

Now seeing as people can't seem to seperate church and state around here we should start taxing churches. They make tons of money and would make up for any lost tax revenue if the measure fails.

kinda hard to tell if the intent of KentuckyDad's thread was to support the passage of alcohol sales or to bash religion.

There are a lot of churches that don't make the "tons" you think they do.

I consider myself a Christian but I think that the Prohibition-style laws in some Kentucky counties are stupid. I personally dont think there is anyway wrong with a little alcohol as long as you dont overdo it or try to drive while buzzed. Why are you going to prohibit alcohol in your county and have people who want it go to another county and have your county miss out on all that tax revenue? I dont drink but this is America and that is my choice and others have the choice to drink if they want. Dump this wet dry moist county nonsense Kentucky!

I hope no one is holding a gun to his head and forcing him to go to "church" over there in Murray...lol.
