Default Considering moving to Lebanon Junction, KY

Hello everyone,

My family and I are considering moving to Lebabon junction, ky from colorado springs, co. I am looking for a family friendly town that my children can thrive. I was wondering if anyone could help me with the information on the utilities, propane, electricity, cable and water info, who it is and if the prices are good. Also I looking for info on the schools there, I have two children that are in school, preschool and 3rd grade, I would like to know if they offer preschool? Also how far is it away from Louisville, ky? Thank you for any info.

Tanya

It's about 35 miles from the edge of Louisville proper, as the crow flies. My guess is that depending on where you want to go, you're looking at about an hour's drive. Does that sound right to everyone?

That would be in the Bullitt County School System, unless you'd be living a little south of the city. Just off the top of my head, that school system isn't one of our best, but hopefully someone who knows more than me will answer. Here's a link: http://www.bullittschools.org/web2.0/ .

Not much there, at least, the last time I drove through. It's not far at all to Elizabethtown, however.

Lebanon Junction is in Bullitt County. Hear banjos; paddle faster.

The only place I would even live in my right mind in Bullitt County would be Mount Washington, a good 20 miles from Leb. Jct.

The public school system is a joke. But at least you're close to Louisville and a very nice small city/overgrown small town called Elizabethtown.

I agree with the above posters about the Bullitt County school system. If I were going to live near Lebanon Junction, I'd just head on down to Elizabethtown or go north to Mt. Washington like the above poster mentioned.

Comparing Colorado Springs and Louisville would be a good match but not LJ. The untilities across the board will be a lot less than any town/city in Kentucky. If you're looking for a school match for what you have in COS, you're going to have to search a while or spend the money saved on utilities on a private school. Big weather differences (much more sun in Colorado) and you can see for miles in COS - including the mountains where you won't see anything like that in LJ. The greenery however is surely to be a suprise. If you're looking for areas like Red Rock Park and Security Service Field, you won't find it in LJ or even Louisville.
