Default Relocating to Kentucky looking for a nice place and a career

I am a retired Police Officer from Maryland who is currently working in the field of Computer Forensics and E-Discovery. I am looking to relocate to Kentucky for several reasons, much cheaper then Maryland, less crime, more friendly people, better area to raise a family etc….(the list goes on). I totally have no idea what area I want to call home yet in Kentucky. I imagine what ever location I can find a job in this field. Does anyone know of someone who is currently working in this field or any companies that are currently hiring either law enforcement or private? I have done a few internet searches and reached out to a few contacts but just looking for any other leads. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can lead on great places to call home. I would love to have a bit of land also maybe five plus acres with a smaller house (maybe for around 200K if possible). I also think that due to my career I would have to be around a “bigger” city though (Lexington, Louisville, and Bowling Green etc) I would not mind a 30 to 45 minute commute. Currently I sit about 45 minutes in traffic everyday to go 20 miles! I know I have a broad scope but the biggest thing is to find a job then a house from there.

[Thanks

Are you limited to the private sector or would you consider Government work?

I know there are several Law Enforcements Agencies (both Federal and State) in the London area that might meet what you are looking for. That's about a hour south of Lexington. Through a variety of reasons, several agencies have offices there that oversee thier activities in the region.

Also, you might look at Frankfort. The State Police has a forensics crime lab unit and the Attorney General's office is always lookingfor new fields to investigate.
