-----" given you can see them working all the time--"
Define-----"them" !
Just becaiuse you see Mexicans working at a packing plant, poultry processing plant, or big dairy farm does not mean they are the same individuals from week to week or from month to month.
They maybe all look the same, but that doesn't mean they are the same individuals week after week ( or even day after day)
same individuals week after week? are you suggesting that they are dying? that is kind of a wired statment.
and i define "them" as illegal immigrants. that should be pretty obvious. if you want to say that youve never seen an illegal immigrant working here then you are lying. were not in california, there is no estbalished hispanic community that has been around for generations. almost all of the hispanic population are very recent immigrants, and very few are legal. why do they come here? for jobs. not to apply for welfare. its simple common sense
Can JimmyJohnWilson confirm that those are the same individuals that he sees working every day ?
I'll bet he sees Mexicans workers at different times and presumes those are the same workers who were working their the last time he noticed them.
I'll also bet they--"all look the same "-- to JimmyJohnWilson when he praises their work ethic !
you can bet that all you like, but you are wrong. what is this "sees them all the time and assumes its the same ones"? where on earth did you get that from?
and im not really praising their work ethic. im just saying that using logical thinking, the vast majority of them come here to work. honestly, if your plan as an illegal immigrant is to show up and apply for welfare, dont bother the trip. you come because you have heard from someone else that there are jobs in kentucky, and the job market is so poor wherever you are that you risk your life to come here for a potential job. after the life threatening trip coming here, applying for welfare (which will certainly get you deported), is an idiotic choice to make. which logically, makes no sense

couldn't the same be said for applying for a job ?
I'm not ready to accept that defeatist conclusion.
People will continue to drink and drive also. However, as the penalties got stiffer and enforcement cracked down, there are less people willing to chance it.
Time to do the same with illegals .
Fewer will chance it also.
Its not a defeatest attitude. The point of your arguement is that you want people to come here legally, right? So why not make it easier for them to get workers permits? George W. come out with a similar program. We have things like that in Texas and it seems to work. Our state is leading the economic recovery and sitting on a surplus, yet we have more illegals here than you have total people in Kentucky. How could that be?
Let's just all ignore every single post LAnative puts up here and leave them out of the conversation. We don't care about texas or california
