I been planning on moving here soon was going to stay in Florida but considering moving to KY.

How bad is the snow in South part of Ky?
Can I find a decent house pretty reasonable?
It it a safe place to live?
How's the job market there?

Any other feed back would be nice.

Thanks in advance for your time,

Snow is not bad at all. It may snow a few times every winter. Ice can be a problem, but as a whole the winters are fairly mild. Just rains alot.
Home prices are very reasonable compared to most places and it is definitely a safe place to live.
As far as the job market goes, there is a suprisingly high number of options considering the size of the town. I believe WKU is the biggest employer and they almost always have jobs available.

Bowling Green still has a "small town" attitude, though the traffic wouldn't indicate that. Traffic can be pretty terrible. Most of your standard big box retail stores are here. The parks are very nice as well.

I agree with all of the above. Real estate is down right now so you can find a good deal on a house and there is a lot to choose from whether buying or renting. There are not as many jobs right now as there usually are, but there are still jobs available depending on what area you want to work in or have experience in. What type of job are you seeking? Bowling Green is relatively safe if you know the areas to avoid and use common sense. We do have a large police force for a city this size. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

I was thinking of job options for my son he is 23 he has a good job now working at a warehouse one of the better warehouse jobs in our area. So wouldn't be moving for a decent job. Even tho his hours have been cut he still brings home a decent pay check compared to cut hours with out decent pay. Cut hours with decent pay comes to full time without decent pay.
He has a high school deploma and gradurated A, B honor roll he retained A, B honor roll thu out his school years.

Another big concern is the weather since we were both born in Fl.

He will be able to find something I am sure. There are 4 definite seasons here...hot, hotter, a little less hot and cold...lol. Seriously, most of the time it is warm, with just a couple of colder months in the winter...usually December and January. We usually don't get much snow, but every now and then we a get a surpise and get 4 or 5 inches, but it doesn't hang around.

My main complaint about bg is that you still have too much small town politics here. Its a very friendly town though. Jobs are very scarce...unemployment was 11.5 percent last time I heard. Another thing you should consider is the state and city taxes here.

Last actual figure I saw was 10.9 for unemployment. Bowling Green has several companies in the automotive industry which accounts for most of that number, along with almost no construction happening right now. The real estate collapse hit here about a year behind other areas and we are in the depths of it right now. There are still jobs to be found, but you have to have a skill, specialty, good experience, or have connections. Most of the jobs now are in healthcare here.

As far as small town politics, that is very accurate, especially in certain areas and interests. Bowling Green has certain good ole boys that still basically run most of everything. There is a lot of corruption that most people who are not from here never know or see, but this is true for a lot of cities and towns in this country.
