I have heard about people who put a noose on their neck while standing on a chair, then kick the chair over.So this guy was standing on the ground and raised his legs up,bending them at the knees, pulling his feet towards his butt till he choked himself to death? Why would anyone have a hard time believing that?

He took out an accidental death and dismemberment policy, not a life insurance policy. It would not pay off in the event of a suicide. I don't think it even pays off if you die from an illness, such as leukemia, which the witness claimed Sparkman said he had.

Accidental death and dismemberment insurance basics

The police made a big thing out of the fact that his feet touched the ground and he could've simply walked away to escape death. It really makes the police look like idiots.

Did you guys even read how the police came to their conclusions?

Quote:
Among other things, only Sparkman's DNA was found on evidence at the scene, and he had told a friend details of his plan that matched what happened, police said at a news conference Tuesday.

Forensic tests showed that the letters were applied from the bottom to the top — not the way an assailant facing Sparkman would write them. Police concluded that Sparkman wrote on himself, Rudzinski said.

The results, received last week, showed there was no DNA other than Sparkman's on the rope, the rag in his mouth or a similar rag found near his body.

Still, how does the guy duct tape himself up like that?
Read the article;

Police: Census worker made death look like homicide to get money - State - Kentucky.com

He had plenty of room to move his hands and arms.

Did you read the article, where it explains all the details?

Im not a conspiracy theory nut, but just saying "suicide" in the papers & being done with it really aint gonna cut it. And they've been extremely vague & deliberately misleading I think. You dont??
Did you read the article, which has some of those details?

The police also, in the original report claimed he died at a place other than where he was found hanged and that the cause of death was not asphyxiation. Now death by asphyxiation would be rather easy to determine even by the most inexperienced medical examiner. This is just not adding up.

They reached their conclusion primarily on the witness to the purported plot and fit everything else to that conclusion because they didn't have DNA evidence on the materials that pointed to someone else. All of the physical evidence could've pointed to either a suicide or a murder. One thing does make it look improbable that he died at his own hands unless they could explain it away. His feet were on the ground.

They screwed this up just like a case that involved us 4 years ago. Still "unsolved" and the perp is still walking around.

The 1970s movie Deliverance comes to mind. Uneducated people in a backwoods town.
