After this wet/dry fiasco in Trigg County, I will never set foot in that county again. I have never seen that many backwards bumpkins in my life. A church there kicked out 17 members for signing the petition to get the measure to a vote. One member kicked out one of their family members!!!

You wonder why there are no jobs coming to that town!!! Corporations look at stuff like that.

I voted no, but I'm not so set against it that I would vote somebody out of a church because of it.
Backward bumpkins? Bet I could name 120 counties in this state that will have some of those. And There aren't any corporations staying away from or coming to Trigg County just because of the alcohol vote. Mainly because we aren't close enough to Mexico! Sorry you're staying away just because of something like that. Your loss! My piece of the big ham biscuit was delicous!

I would think a "Ham festival" would be held in a state like Iowa.

Never knew anyplace in Kentucky was famous for pork.

Anything to do with pork should be held in Washington DC. They are the SUPREME LEADER in pork.

Broadbent Country Hams was here in Cadiz for years. Moved a few years ago to just off the Eddyville exit off I-24. But Broadbents has a store at the Cadiz exit of 24 also. There are several country ham producers in Kentucky, with I think 4 in western Kentucky.

This is referring to country ham which you won't find above the Mason Dixon line...certainly not in Iowa.

Does country ham come from pigs?

If country ham is that popular in the south, where do they get the hams from in the first place?

I was unaware that the south ranked high in pork production.

You are deinitely not from the south are you...lol? Country ham is a cured/smoked ham. They will keep up to two or three years. Certain southern states produce a lot of pork. North Carolina ranks right up there with Iowa and Georgia, Kentucky, Texas, Virginia and Tennessee are in the top 20.

Kentucky is known for country ham, bourbon, and fast horses...maybe not in that order.

If you're trying to cut back on salt intake, you'd better steer clear of country ham! lol
