Default Hazel Green, looking for any info

I have a wonderful friend who is trying to convince me to move down to Hazel Green. Now, while I've seen her pics and it is just beautiful and I know she tells me the truth as she sees it, can anyone give me a different perspective? I'm looking for info such as if there are really any office job possibilities around the area, places to rent, cost of living etc. I haven't been able to find any online newspapers for the area, and craigslist is no help. I don't want to live in the larger cities, want the small town country life, but also need to have an income. Thanks in advance for any info you can give!

I googled Hazel Green. Are you talking about Wolfe Co? If so, Wolfe Co is one of the smallest, poorest, least populated counties in the state. And we are talking about Kentucky, a state that has 120 counties, with a number of them being poor and rural. It is a pretty area, the Red River Gorge is in your backyard. I used to go camping and hiking there regularly. I have no idea what people there do for work without driving to a significant ways. The towns in that area are absolutely tiny.

Yes, it is Wolfe Co. I know her husband has to drive an hour to go to work ust one way. She says there are lots of office type work, but from everything I've seen that I could research it looks pretty doubtful that the wages would be decent. I have plans to drive down in the next few weeks to see her anyway so I'll just wait to check it out in person. Thanks for the info!
