OMG, did we forget to mention Ale-8-One???? That's almost as bad as me forgetting about Churchill Downs when someone asked about what to see in Louisville.
Ale-8-One
Elixir of the gods, and it goes great with a fried baloney sandwich!

Kentucky Signature Foods
I would have to say signature foods of Kentucky would be the following and not in any specific order: Country Ham, Fried Green Tomatoes, Beer Cheese, Benedictine, Homemade Pimento Cheese, KY Hot Brown, KY Derby Pie, Mint Julep, Sweet Iced Tea, Homemade Biscuits, Homemade Cornbread, Soup Beans(Brown Beans or Pinto Bean Soup), Fried Banana Peppers, Fried Chicken, Corn Pudding, Homemade Blackberry Jam, Jam Cake, Half Runner Green Beans cooked with country bacon.
Any one from Kentucky will recognize all on this list and will salivate just from reading it! Most Kentucky cooks own iron skillets and know that they do yield the best results for fried chicken and corn bread! And yes, it is true, the best place to get these and all great variations of these is a church dinner!
