Nice towns near Cincinnati for families?
Wondering also what the trade-offs would be for choosing to live in Ky versus Ohio (Cin. area) Is there that much of a difference in the towns that border each other in the two states? Looking for any kind of input as I'm in the early stages of gathering all my info. Thanks for any input.

Harrison, Ohio and West Harrison, Indiana are small towns close to Cincinnati, but are growing. I like the fact that the towns all around them are still small, but big city amenities are so close(within 25 miles)

If you enjoy smoking in bars/restaurants, live in KY. Ohio has a statewide ban on smoking in public. As CMoore says, check out SE Indiana, too. It's very nice. I don't know much about Northern KY (other than what I see from I-71/75). But it looks like it offers anything you'd want. And Newport-on-the-Levy (among other things in the area) offers plenty to see and do.

Insurance however is cheaper in Ohio than it is in Kentucky ( I have found out!) I live in Northern Kentucky, in an area called Florence and it is a fairly nice area. It has all the big things you need, Walmart, K Mart, Home Depot and Lowes, has a mall, a couple movie cinema, a couple bowling alleys, nice resturants as well as fast food and of course housing tracks. It is about 20 miles South of Cincinnati so is still close enough if you need the big city (high crime though, it has doubled from last year if I am not mistaken) but far enough to where it is still kinda country.

SandraDee, I would to see the rest of Florence besides the Meijer store! I think Northern KY would be a GREAT place to live (as long as you didn't have to do the "Cut in the Hill" during rush hour... I need to put my wife in the car one of these days and get farther South than Covington!

lol if you like the Meijer store you should go right down the street and check out the new Super Walmart and the IHOP they built, its the talk of the town for sure! Yes I live a tad bit south of Florence so no cut in the hill for me. HOWEVER the cut in the hill does have some really nice limestone/shale out croppings, can find some very nice fossils there.

Thanks for the info! Guess I could look at more than the people in the other cars next time I'm in the morning I-71/75 backup!
