The flea market is pretty big. If you go, you will have to pay $5 to park so keep that in mind. As far as festivals I don't know.

http://www.abbeyroadontheriver.com/ The AVP Pro sand Volleyball tour is in town at our award winning Waterfront Park: http://web.avp.com/index.jsp The Kentucky Reggae Fest is fun during the day for families, and kids under 10 are free during the day. Located at the beautiful Water Tower, upriver from, Waterfront Park, I always liked this festival. I think the crowd gets a little older at night: http://www.louisvilleky.gov/Communit...t&range=latest Here is some reading on the history of the Water Tower, which was built when Louisville was a bustling nineteenth century metropolis, and the largest city in Indiana was New Albany, across the river. Ah, the riverboat days are long gone ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisville_Water_Tower If you need family dining or other entertainment options, let me know. I think the Science Center downtown has a cool IMAX film now showing about New Orleans and the hurricane. My rec would be Abbey Road though. It brings in lots of tourists, and if you read the website forum for it, they all harp on what a great time it is! If you are into eclectic dining and art, try this (you should explore this area anyways on your way out to St. Matthews): http://www.fatfridayhop.org/ Some people take kids, and the drinking that goes on is mostly light wine drinking, etc. |

Haha, this is Kentuckiana, I always see signs for flea markets, although I have never been to one (not my cup of tea).

There are tons of them. There is a smaller but nice one in Middletown that is open every day, with expanded booths on the weekend.

Good point. I also recall seeing Flea Markets on the outskirts of Fern Creek on Bardstown Road, near Hillview on Preston Highway, and on Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown. Heck, they are all over! I can't wait to get out of work so I can go to the Beatles fest on the river tonight though!
