Thanks for the replies!
Just to clairify some things, the property is not for hunting, it will be the weekend cabin place for the time being. We will eventually build a larger home onsite for retirement.
I am not totally new to Butler county, my parents and grand parents were from there and I spent a lot of wonderful summers around when I was a kid. The family name is well known in the area and I want to reconnect with the community. Got some deep roots there.
I'm just following my father's footsteps. He retired from the rat race to a better place & I intend to do the same.
Besides, the rat race hasen't ever ben won....

I haven't had the opportunity to fish there yet, but the guy that owns the property next to mine has been catching (mostly catfish) like crazy!

I work in downtown Atlanta & we live just north of the city in Woodstock.

kymom2.........I have visited a farmhouse with 18 acres recently in Butler County near Morgantown. How much do you think should a farm house (with 2 bedrooms and a bath) and a garage cost? I quite liked the area. People seem simple and friendly. You seem to have lived there for a while. I know it is full 2 hours drive away from Nashville and about 30 minutes from Bowling Green. Thanks for responding....

A small farm like that should be very affordable in Butler county. The price depends a lot on the features of the property and how nice the house is. Still, you'll get more bang for your buck than most areas in the state.
It only takes me about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minuites to get to M-town from the south side of Nashville. BG to Morgantown is 20-30 minuites.

The people are friendly and the land is scenic. If you're looking for the small town life with very low crime, I highly reccomend it.
Although we haven't built a place on our land yet, we visit quite often. I currently still work & live in the Atlanta area but plan to eventually return to the area my family was from.

Good luck with your search avisvh98, and keep me posted!
