On Derby Day, Saturday, 05/03/2008 another vehicle cross-over accident took lives on I-65.
This time it was mile marker 119 near Shepherdsville. 2 more people are dead because the lawmakers of this state can't see the importance of median barriers.
My family and I suffered our loss on 03/19/2008 near mile marker 61. My wife, daughter and a family of three were killed that day.
The cheapest (and probably safest) barrier system is the kind with cables used in Louisville. At a cost of between $180,000 and $250,000 per mile, there in no excuse for not erecting these cables on the most dangerous sections of this interstate.
We have started a course of action and need all the help we can get. Call, write, or email your state goverment officials. Join us in the push for median barriers. More information can be found at Barriers Now - Powered by vBulletin .
Join us please. Send us your info and add your comments. It's a new site and growing. We need the help of every Kentuckian who cares.

I'm sorry for your loss. As citizens of Kentucky, we need to demand that the state take action on this issue.

One of the victims of the accident on Saturday was a college student here at WKU. She was going home to Louisville. How sad and tragic.

We are willing to expand the web site for other states like Indiana if some one is willing to take the lead for their state. Join our site and contact the administrators or the webmaster. Take the lead for your state.

I have posted on the college newspaper web site and hope that it was approved and printed. My oldest daughter went to WKU and made that same damned trip at least once a month. The students at that university should be especially involved in this cause.

Here is something I found: Cable barriers for I-65 seen as potential life savers (broken link). Let's just hope this goes forward quickly.
