Tennessee and Kentucky look very much the same from one end to the other.

Mountains in the east, foothills and knobs in the central part and lowering into rolling land in the west to bottom land and swamps in the far west.

Speaking of hispanics, my church (shively Baptist) has a man who actually gives the Hispanics who come to church a set of headphones. The man then sits there and translates the ENTIRE service to those people so they can understand too! Not to mention that they offer both Spanish classes and English classes. I think it's wonderful!

Amandak, There are more mountains in Kentucky then Tennessee tell your husband that bit of information so if he truly wants mountains Kentucky works. And there are areas close to Tennessee that are still in the mountains of Kentucky. Also tell him the sales tax is higher in Tennessee than Kentucky.

rbourg, I agree Shelby County is great and Simpsonville is the bomb. The other one close to both would be Anderson County which is the opposite side of I-64 just below the town of Shelby.

There is a lot more acceptance in Kentucky then there ever is in California. If you want to be in the northern part of Kentucky Flatwoods or Greenup are really beautiful places in the mountains with the Ohio River near by. It is 20 minutes from Greenup to Ashland which has hospital, Super Walmart, and a host of several things to do. Flatwoods is 5 minutes from Ashland at the most. If you prefer the more southernly part of the same mountains than I suggest close to Lexington, but still in the mountains is Morehead. It is located just before coming out and very pretty as well.

Be glad you don't have my myspace page! lol My wife and I are on vacation in Gatlinburg, in the Smoky Mountains and she has taken sooooo many pictures of it all that her brand new camera is about to wave a white flag of surrender! With a stop at my brother's house on a lake about an hour west of Knoxville for a couple days and here in the Smokies since Wednesday, she has taken over a THOUSAND pictures! lol And we're not leaving till Sunday!

So tell Hubby to go to Tennessee to see the mountains! But AFTER you move to Kentucky! lol
