I will be visiting the Radcliff/E-town area very soon with the hopes of lining things up so I can relocate. I'm new to this whole forum thing - don't do much online, so please be patient. I am so looking forward to being in the area. Y'all seem so nice and helpful in what I've seen on the forum. I'm looking forward to meeting some nice people, being in or near a military environment and settling into a friendly community. I was in the area a few years back for just a couple of days and thought it seemed like a nice place to live. As far as a job, I'm an office worker with an excellent work ethic. For housing, I would like to find a smaller house - not too small - with a decent-sized backyard to rent. That is more according to my taste than an apartment. Any feedback would be appreciated. I am coming from New York, so am going to have to make my time there count in terms of groundwork for relocating asap.

I just arrived in the area a week ago so I can tell you a little bit. Radcliff is your typical military town in good and bad ways. I'm looking for work myself and honestly I think commuting 40+ miles to Louisville will have to happen to find decent office work. To be honest, I prefer Elizabethtown and Vine Grove to Radcliff. I like the place so far but employment is a big issue for civilans.

What about housing? A rental to start? How tight of a market is that?

With BRAC about to be in full swing, I think it will be very tight. Things are very affordable here though.
