Tri-Cities Job Search
I've got a question regarding job search. My home here in CA is currently on the market and I plan on moving to Jonesborough when it sells. I have an online subscription to the Tri-Cities Times but is there another source in JC for finding jobs? The stuff I find in the paper is $8 - $10 per hour and I would need more than that to survive. My current position is Project Manager at Sales/Marketing firm. I also worked as an assist to the Project Manager in construction building a multi-family complex. Any advice?

Check out Kingsport Times-News, the local paper in the Kingsport area. I'd also check out the Johnson City Press, in Johnson City. Did you look on Craigslist or monster.com? They are good sources to throw in.

Thanks for the info. I've been on Monster for a while but they don't usually post salary. Do you know what an "average" salary for the area? City-Data says $38,000, do you think that's about right?

I suggest you get with an employment recruiter in the area for that type of position or some of the local employment agencies, that is how a lot of higher paying positions are filled here.
Good luck, anything else you need, just ask away.

Sounds about right. In Kingsport, $18 bucks an hour is "good money." That's just under $38,000 per year. Makes sense. Cost of living is super low in the Tri-Cities. But, since it seems to be growing fast in the last several years, increases may be on the way.
