I recently bought a large inventory of children's clothing and accessories from a high-end department store. I have roughly around 200 brand new with tags children's clothing. They are Spring/Summer high-end boys and girls apparel. Many sizes available.

I do not have any children, but was originally looking to sell children's clothing at a local flea market. Now, I know the flea markets in the area are not that great. So, before I make an attempt at selling the clothing locally, I just want to know your honest opinion about how you think I will do. Most of the clothes have price tags of $20-$70 and I plan on taking 75% off the ticket price.

I am not advertising, I just want a general opinion on how you think I may do selling the clothing at a local flea market. Thank you!

I am not sure how they would do. If you did a flea market (which I have thought of for selling my Photo Prints), I would probably look at the Tri Cities flea market out near Bluff City. I just dont see the Kingsport one having as much foot traffic as the TC one.

The other option you have is Ebay. Plenty of kids clothes seem to sell there. Sell them as single item or in Lots. If they were Vintage.. then you can also look at Etsy.

Default Consignment Sales

You might also try a local children's consignment sale if they are not all over for the spring. There are / were several in Gray, Johnson City and Kingsport. If you consign, you generally pay about a $7 consigner fee and then you get 70% of the selling price. Since they are new with tags, you could probably just discount them by 50% for a sale like that.

Here is a website that lists many of the sales:

I know nothing about flea markets, so I can't help you there.

Flea markets and garage sales are a dime a dozen here. You can find baby clothing every weekend for sale. Even in the city proper. A consignment shop opened across from ETSU, recently, just selling baby clothing. They are already filing chapter 11 bankruptcy.
