hey sacher...most of the area is pretty safe and clean but you'll want to spend a few days in the area to get your legs and see whats what before plunking down any money.

Y'all get ready for 3 more families of native Floridians, because you're right - FLORIDA STINKS!!!! Thay can keep it, and all the chaos that goes along with it! When you see a convoy of U-Hauls coming down the pike in Kingsport (between mid & end of October), that will be us - giving the one-fingered salute to Florida. LOL

Now. Now. You are a future Tennessean. We do not flip the bird. We smile, hold our head up high and wave in a genteel way.
I did just that all the way out of Florida.
Play a little Gospel, Elvis and "Walking in Memphis" on your way out. It is truly inspiring.

Alrighty then, we can do that! I just look forward to a more peaceful and laid back way of life, where the seasons change and it is not 900 degrees 360 days of the year.
P.S. I love Elvis!

My wife and I recently moved to the Tri-Cities area from Jacksonville, Florida. Our move was spurred by wanting a change in both scenery and lifestyle. We actually still like Jacksonville, but after visiting this area a number of times, we found that we really liked both the area and the people that live here. We really fell in love with Jonesborough and just bought a new home in Telford about 4 miles outside of Jonesborough. We actually took a cut in pay to move here. We did, however, purchase a new home for forty thousand dollars less than what we sold our home in Florida plus the new home has 320 more sqare feet of living space. We are starting to acclimate to the area and are really loving it. I highly recomend it to anyone looking for a more peaceful laid back lifestyle and a love of the country and mountains.

Personally, I would want to stay out of Charlotte, Raleigh and Atlanta. Wherever the sheeple are overcrowding is a place that needs to be avoided.
What makes Tennessee better than Florida? City-Data does not have enough bandwidth for me to ever begin to explain.
|
Exactly. I would not live in Broward for all the money in the world. It truly is that bad. I had the fortune to live in Boca but can honestly say, there are few things I will ever miss about S. Florida. This is the 100% God's honest truth.
I actually learned there are polite and decent people in Tennessee (and other non-Florida parts) , not out for blood, who take time to be friendly, neighbors, etc. Last week my dog ran off and 6 neighbors offered to help- in Fl the dog would have been run over by now!!!!!!!!
