Default Floridians in TriCities Area

I am just curious, why are Floridians moving to the TriCities area? It seems a whole world away...and totally different. Thanks.

Well for me, a former Floridian, that IS the reason why. I did not want FL life or anything that went along with it at all! The Tri-Cities is not utopia by any means, but for me personally, I can't imagine living and raising my family anywhere else.

EXACTLY.

That is the reason we want out of Fl. too. I am a native and want to get somewhere my kids can still be kids and I can slow down and enjoy them more.

I'll be there on Sunday. Hooray!!! Why? Miami sucks. Too many people, rude people, too expensive, and I am looking for a complete change of scenery. Everybody down here thinks I'm half crazy. My boss completely expects me to come back asking for my job back. But, (Hopefully) I will never have to stay in SoFla for extended periods ever again.

Good for you! Just be sure and take a deep breath before you hit the TN state line, relax and slow down a bit, relax the aggressive grip on the steering wheel (can ya tell I've driven in Miami before? LOL) and just enjoy the trip and look around.

AMEN!! Will do. I am definately looking forward to the more relaxed lifestyle. I was up in Knoxville a couple of weeks ago, didn't make it all the way out east, however. I quite liked Knoxville, and I think I will like JC even more. Driving in Miami doesn't bother me as much as it does other people (I have two jobs and they both are located within a 1000 feet of my house), and no I don't get road rage, I'm too laid back for that. So no worries. Plus, I've got to drive through NoFla, GA, SC and NC before I even get to TN. If you see a Black Acura with Florida plates honk and wave! LOL

mbmouse, where in Florida are you from? Do you know live in JC?

I'll keep an eye out for the car, wave at all the black Acuras and won't feel weird about it at all as that is a normal thing to do here LOL!!
I used to live in Jupiter FL, I moved to TN in 97, yes, I now live in North JC.
