Well, we are finally going to to Johnson City. We will be leaving Jacksonville Florida on 9/2/07 and will arrive in Johnson City some time that night. We will rent an apt. till we find the perfect home. It will be just me, my wife, and our trusty chocolate lab, Bosco. We really look forward to starting this new chapter and meeting new people and making new friends. Thanks for all the advice so far. We hope to see you soon.

We will be visiting Johnson City at the same time. I'm also originally from Florida (grew up in St Pete/ school at FSU) and have visited Jax on numerous occassions. We're looking forward to the trip, hopefully yours will go well.

JC Newcomer's Club
Today at lunch, I met with a woman from the Johnson City Newcomer's Club. She brought a big bag of goodies (including chocolate!) from local merchants. There were coupons for free dental cleanings, chiropractic adjustments, museum admissions, etc. I'd recommend looking them up & signing up online (just google "Johnson City" and Newcomers. They also have monthly luncheons & lots of clubs, but they all meet during business hours, so are better for retirees & such.

Well, we found a house to rent. It is on Horseshoe Bend Rd. just outside of Jonesborough off 81 going toward Sulphur Springs. We'll live there till we find just the right place to buy. See you fine people soon.
