I own a small chunk of land that backs to the Bays mountains in Bailyton. I was wondering what the hunting is like in that neck of the woods. What public land is relatively close? Are owners of large tracks of land hesitant to give permission to hunters? Whats the average cost per acre to lease in that area? Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Place to start is TWRA -- Tennessee's Wildlife Resources
TWRA - Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - Region 4
You need to check locally for what's allowed and what isn't. You'll find peole who have been hunting the same land for generations and have leases and understandings that go back even farther. They won't like strangers moving in on them but it shouldn't be hard to become a friend.
Tennessee's Wild Side has a TV show on Public Television and a website/forum for people looking for places to hunt and fish.

Default outdoor magazine info

Does TN put out a monthly outdoor sporting/ farming paper. I subscribe to Woods and Water down here in FLA, and I would like to get something similiar from up there if such thing exist.

Tennessee Valley Outdoors is probably what you're looking for. It's published in Greeneville, in East Tennessee.

There's an online hunting magazine. (link looks weird, but it works. Something wrong with their html). </title> </head> <body> </body> </html><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 TRANSITIONAL//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Tennessee Hunting Online Magazine :: TnHunting.Com
TWRA puts one out, quite nice. They also do the weekly TV show on public TV.
